Making money with ClickBank is easy but there’s a right and a wrong way to do it. An excellent source to follow
for this process is The ClickBank Code by Michael Jones.
Before you think about keyword research you need to find a product to promote within the ClickBank
Marketplace.
You can’t just go ahead and pick any product – you need to find a product that is HOT now so that you
know with the right keywords it will convert into sales for you.
When you search through the ClickBank Marketplace search through products that ideally have a
gravity of more than 30 and a commission payout of at least $15 – $20 dollars otherwise you are going
to have a hard time returning a profit if your commission payout is too low.
Other factors to look for when selecting a product to promote is the salespage. You *DO* need to look
at the salespages of the products you are considering. If the salespage sucks then your ppc efforts will
not convert into sales.
Check out the headline of the salespage and ask yourself if it is compelling? If you wouldn’t read any further
how could you expect someone else to?
Read through the sales letter copy to check it is easy to follow and has a ‘call to action’
i.e a ‘buy now’ or ‘order’ link. Additionally, if the salespage has an optin form for visitors to leave their
name and email address this is a good sign since it shows the product owner intends to follow up with the
prospect if he leaves the site without making a purchase so you will still earn a commission from the sale if a
purchase is made at a later date.
Remember also to check that all links on the page are working.
Shortlist 3-4 products within a given niche for consideration to give you an idea of the angle you are going
to target within that niche.
For example, dog-training is a fairly large niche and within that niche there are several sub-niches i.e.
dog training
puppy training
clicker training
dog food and nutrition
breed/pedigree
house training
Your next step would be to take all of these and Google each term to see if there are any affiliates promoting these
products. If you cannot find affiliates promoting these sub-niches then it’s not a good sign that sales are
being made and so best left alone.
However, for the sub-niches where you do find affiliates promoting products take those terms and using a
free keyword tool such as Google’s free keyword research tool or Keyword Spy you can check to see the number
of times these phrases have been searched for over the last month.
You could then enter these numbers into the spreadsheets included within The ClickBank Code to assess whether
your planned product is likely to be profitable.
Once you are happy you have found a sub-niche that is converting and you have checked that there is enough
search volume then you can go ahead and create your campaign.
The ClickBank Code is a great source for a step-by-step guide on finding HOT products within the ClickBank
Marketplace to promote as well as being an easy to follow guide on the whole process of working with ClickBank
and Google.
